First Semester of Seminary Complete!
I finished my last paper for my first semester of seminary at 11:24 pm, 36 minutes before the deadline the week of Christmas. It’s been approximately 24 years since I was last in school and it was a great blessing but also a little bit more of a struggle than I anticipated. I took a range of classes the first semester from fundamentals of worship, to the global church in motion, Jesus Christ in Plural words, rural ministry, spiritual practices, and finally biblical Greek which almost broke me.
I took attached picture of my dining room table just as after I finished my Greek translation exam at the beginning of final’s week. It was chaotic and challenging, and took me nearly six hours of work to finish. I had multiple books, notes, and reference guides to help me through the translation of a passage from the New Testament. I’m not proud of the scene I created and have made all kinds of promises to myself I would be more organized and disciplined next semester.
Like the practice of jiujitsu though, persistence and consistency pays off, but it can be very messy and humbling. I’m especially grateful this season of my faculty, staff, and classmates that make up the community at my seminary and my family for supporting me!
Grace and peace to you!
But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for see-I am bringing you good news of treat joy for all the people: to you is born this day in the city of David, a Savior, who is the Messiah, the Lord." Luke 2: 10-11 NSRV
